Shafaq News/ The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, decided to retire from public life in protest against the actions of some of his followers.
A source in Al-Sadr’s office told Shafaq News Agency, “Al-Sadr decided to retire from the people because of yesterday’s event and similar incidents.”
He added, “The motives behind this decision came from His Eminence’s feeling that people are still, to this moment, being dragged behind the schemes of the West and the corrupt, far from his taste, his orientations, and his blessed instructions.”
Yesterday, a number of people affiliated with the Sadrist movement tore up pictures and murals of leading figures in the resistance axis, which prompted leaders of the Sadrist movement to arrest the perpetrators and hand them over to the security forces.
