Japan expresses desire to support Iraqi market with automobile industry and machinery productionShafaq News/ Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received today, Monday, Japanese Ambassador Futoshi Matsumoto, on the occasion of the end of his duties as his country’s ambassador to Iraq.

Al-Sudani expressed his thanks to the ambassador, according to a statement issued by his office, to Shafaq News Agency, appreciating his efforts in establishing and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, which witness cooperation in many fields, pointing to the contribution of Japanese companies in implementing many important projects, within the framework of Iraq’s policy of achieving economic integration and openness to the regional and international environment.

Al-Sudani touched on the developments in Gaza and Lebanon, the persistence of the occupying entity in its aggression, and Iraq’s position in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, rejecting war and the expansion of the conflict, and achieving peace in the region.

For his part, the Japanese Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for Iraq’s adoption of a balanced foreign policy that contributes to enhancing stability in the region, and stressed his country’s government’s aspiration to develop mutual cooperation.

The Japanese Ambassador referred to what has been achieved in the work to complete the Karbala refinery with all its lines and operational capacity, and the water station in Samawah, as well as the desire of Japanese companies for more cooperation and entry into the Iraqi market in the fields of automobile manufacturing and industrial machinery production.
