Shafaq News/ The Federal Election Commission announced, on Monday, the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, noting that the participation rate reached 72%, while confirming that the announced results were from the counting of 99.63% of the total votes.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Omar Ahmed, said during a press conference attended by Shafak News Agency, “The Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections were held in a safe and fair atmosphere,” stressing that “the preliminary results of the elections are not subject to appeal.”

Kurdistan Democratic Party: 345,822 votes

Yesterday evening, Sunday, Shafaq News Agency obtained the results of the initial counting of the Kurdistan Parliament elections, where expectations showed that the Democratic Party would win more than 40 seats out of 100, while the Patriotic Union would win more than 20 seats and the New Generation about 17 seats.
In Erbil, the KDP received more than 253,000 votes, with a close race between the PUK and the New Generation Movement, each receiving about 80,000 votes.
In Dohuk, the Democratic Party also came in first with 270,000 votes, while the New Generation and the Islamic Union competed for second place with about 30,000 votes each.
In Sulaymaniyah, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received about 190,000 votes, the New Generation more than 110,000, and the Democratic Party more than 45,000 votes.
In Halabja, the Patriotic Union received more than 9,000 votes, the Islamic Union more than 6,000 votes, and the Democratic Party more than 4,000 votes.
