US forces install new defense system at Ain al-Assad base

A security source in Anbar Governorate revealed today, Sunday, that the American forces have begun installing a new air defense system on the Ain al-Assad base building, west of Anbar.
The source said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency that “the American forces have begun the process of installing the latest missile defense systems on the Ain al-Assad air base building in the Al-Baghdadi area in the Hit district, west of Anbar, as part of the precautionary measures it is taking to protect its forces from possible attacks targeting the base building.”
He added, “The deployment of an anti-missile and booby-trapped aircraft system came after the failure of the previous defense system following the penetration of a number of resistance missiles into American fortifications.”
