Lavrov: Obama “deliberate destruction” of US-Russian relations

Accused the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a newspaper interview published Thursday, the US outgoing President Barack Obama “deliberately destroy” relations with Russia, and expressed his country’s readiness to work with US President-elect Donald Trump.
Lavrov said the newspaper “Corriere della Sera”, ahead of his visit to Rome to attend a conference of the Mediterranean: “We are confident that the administration (of America), the new will not want to repeat the management errors of the outgoing, purposely destroyed by Russian-American relations.”
He added: “We hope that the foreign policy team of the new president to take concrete steps in this direction … we need serious efforts from both sides to overcome the devastating consequences of the policies of Obama’s anti-Russian administration.”
He denied Lavrov, Russia’s intervention in the US presidential campaign and defended Moscow’s role in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
