Victory regarding the postponement of cases for dissolving Parliament - The Federation has decided its positionThe leader of the victory coalition, Aqil Al-Rudaini, confirmed, today, Wednesday, that the Federal Court has made it clear several times that it is unable to dissolve the parliament, while noting that it is looking into the cases and requests submitted by supporters of the Sadrist movement to dissolve Parliament.

Al-Rudaini said in an interview with the “Information” agency, that “the Federal Court does not have the authority to dissolve Parliament, and it has made it clear several times and on many occasions that the dissolution of the Council lies in Article 64 of the Iraqi Constitution.”

He added, “The last article stipulates that the dissolution of Parliament shall be by submitting a request from the Prime Minister, approved by the President of the Republic, referred to Parliament, and voted on by an absolute majority, and this is disrupted as a result of the caretaker government and not from its authority,” stressing that “this option is out of the question.”

The leader of al-Abadi’s coalition explained that “the second solution is by dissolving parliament by himself, after the absolute vote of members of the House of Representatives,” noting that “the court has a duty to separate powers and interpret laws.”

He continued: “There are thousands of requests submitted by supporters of the Sadrist movement to dissolve parliament, and it considers and needs more time to resolve the decision,” noting that “in the end, the Federal Court’s decision is now obligatory, whatever it is.”

A short while ago, the Federal Court decided to postpone the decision on the case to dissolve Parliament until tomorrow, Thursday
