The head of the parliamentary bloc, MP Abdul Hamza Al-Khafaji, explained the reasons for the House of Representatives postponing the vote on the parliamentary committees and the members of these committees, pointing out the importance of not passing some committees without others to ensure that these committees are not made lame.

Al-Khafaji told Al-Maalouma that “political differences were the main reason behind postponing the session to vote on the heads and members of the parliamentary committees, after it was scheduled that 10 committees in the House of Representatives would be decided during it.”

He added that “political disagreements within the components were the most prominent reason for postponing the decision on the committees, in addition to the existence of logical objections to the decision on 10 parliamentary committees and leaving other committees to be completed at another time, as resorting to this option will make the committees lame as happened in the formation of the ministerial cabinet.”

He explained that “there is objection to the rush towards forming some committees while neglecting others, as some committees have more than 30 members, while others have no more than 5, whereas the number of members in each committee should be 21. This necessitates settling the disputes and resolving some problems before proceeding to finalize the parliamentary committees.”
