The resigned Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi announced that secret networks of senior officials, businessmen, politicians and corrupt state employees withdrew billions of dollars from the public treasury.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi submitted his resignation from his position during the cabinet session.
According to the official agency, “Finance Minister Ali Allawi submitted, during the cabinet session held today, his resignation from his position.”
A government source said that Al-Kazemi agreed to the resignation request, explaining that the reason for it came according to Allawi’s request, given the unstable conditions Iraq is going through. The source indicated that the Minister’s Senior Undersecretary, Taif Sami, will now run the ministry.
