A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ali Al-Zubaidi, revealed today, Sunday, that the coordination framework obtained 180 signatures to hold the parliament sessions, form the government, and appoint the President of the Republic, while the caretaker prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, is one of the contributors to delaying the formation of the government.
Al-Zubaidi said in a press interview that “the Sunni and Kurdish forces acted rationally and responsibly towards the invitation of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi,” stressing that “no political party withdrawing from the House of Representatives by choice can impose its will on other blocs allied with it previously, and this does not constitute good base in the country.
He added that, “the coordinating framework obtained 180 signatures for holding the parliament sessions, forming the government, and appointing the president of the republic,” noting that “there are delegations from the coordinating framework that constantly visit all parties and political blocs in order to form the government.”
Al-Zubaidi pointed out that “the ball is now in the court of the Kurdish forces to agree on a candidate for the president of the republic as soon as possible so that this can assign the prime minister and thus form a service and national government.”
He continued, “The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, is to blame for delaying the sessions of the House of Representatives,” and between “continuing delaying the sessions will expose him to legal accountability,” he stressed that “the caretaker Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, is one of the contributors to delaying the formation of the new government so that the life of his government will be longer, and this work is not legal and unconstitutional.
A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance added that “a strong and fully sovereign government must be available in order to be able to dissolve the current parliament and hold early elections.”
