Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed on Monday his country’s readiness to conduct indirect negotiations with the United States, mediated by the Sultanate of Oman.

In 2015, Iran, Britain, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, and France reached a nuclear agreement that included the easing of sanctions on Tehran in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear program .

In May 2018, the United States withdrew from the agreement during President Trump’s first term and reimposed sanctions on Iran, prompting Tehran to gradually reduce its nuclear commitments and abandon restrictions on research and uranium enrichment.
