The White House announced on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed to cooperate to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The White House explained in a statement that “the agreement includes a temporary halt to attacks on energy facilities, a move aimed at de-escalating tensions and averting a humanitarian crisis.” It noted that “technical teams from both sides will meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to discuss mechanisms for implementing the agreement, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.”
