The Central Bank of Iraq issued a new decision to reduce the minimum value of real estate sales, as the new value was set at 100 million Iraqi dinars, after it was 500 million dinars.
Under the new instructions, according to an official letter addressed to the Real Estate Registration Department (on January 15), the sale of these properties will be done through licensed Iraqi banks only, and that this procedure comes within the due diligence controls for combating money laundering and terrorist financing specific to the Real Estate Registration Departments.
The Central Bank also decided to raise the commission for withdrawals from electronic cards, to 2,000 dinars for every million dinars, after it was 1,000 dinars, and this includes the salaries of employees and retirees.
MPs had previously requested hosting the Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alaq, to review several measures taken by him during the past period.
