Shafaq News/ The Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority in Iraq) ruled on Tuesday that the membership of Iraqi parliament member Ahmed Al-Mashhadani is invalid, according to an informed source.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, “The Federal Supreme Court ruled that the membership of MP Ahmed Al-Mashhadani was invalid,” indicating that “Ahmed Al-Masari will replace him.”
Later, the Federal Supreme Court issued a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, stating that it “considered the case number (90 and its unified 248/Federal/2024) and decided to rule that the membership of Representative Ahmed Ismail Al-Mashhadani is invalid and that the plaintiff Ahmed Abdul Hammadi Al-Masari replaces him as a member of the House of Representatives, starting from the date of issuance of the ruling on 2/4/2025.”
She explained that “the ruling to dismiss the plaintiff’s (Saad Thamer Jassim Sarheed) lawsuit is a final and binding decision for all authorities.”
In addition, the source explained that “the Federal Court rejected the lawsuit filed by MP Alia Nassif, who demanded the termination of MP Hassan Al-Khafaji’s membership.”
