Political analyst Saif Al-Dahlaki confirmed on Wednesday that major corruption files await Al-Halbousi after the federal government decided to terminate his membership.
Al-Dahlaki said in an interview with “Al-Ma’louma” that “the Federal Court’s decision came in accordance with the legal frameworks and its decisions are clear and decisive,” pointing out that “no political party can change the membership decision through political agreements because the decision is judicial from the highest court in the country.”
He added, “Al-Halbousi cannot disrupt the December 19 elections because they represent an internal will,” pointing out that “there are three reasons behind his political loss, the most prominent of which is the exclusivity of the decision.”
He pointed out that “the most important files that will be opened after the termination of Al-Halbousi’s membership is the Reconstruction Fund for the Liberated Areas, as it is completely unique to it, and there are many question marks about it, but the matter will be left to the integrity and oversight authorities in determining the extent of the violations.”
Yesterday, the Federal Court decided to terminate the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, against the backdrop of the case of former MP Laith al-Dulaimi.
