The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Utbi, confirmed today, Friday, that the trial of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is very close.
Al-Utbi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The investigation committees into the transgressions and violations of the government of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi continue to perform their duties and are achieving special achievements with the availability of more evidence that confirms the existence of clear violations in the mechanisms for dealing with public money and the presence of major corruption suspicions.” “.
He added, “There are 10 files so far condemning Al-Kadhimi and his government, and the order to bring him to trial is imminent, but the matter remains subject to the authority of the Iraqi judiciary, as it is the one who decides the case file before it.”
He pointed out that “the extent of corruption in Al-Kadhimi’s government is large, and some of its members are currently being pursued,” stressing that “resolving the investigations will require more time, but all indicators indicate that we are facing important files that will be revealed very soon.”
The Iraqi judiciary had issued memos bringing in some of the advisors and assistants of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to investigate cases of financial and administrative corruption.
