Al-Sudani returns to Iraq after concluding his visit to New YorkShafaq News/ Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani returned, on Saturday, to Iraq after concluding his participation in the meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he held many meetings with senior participating officials.

The Sudanese Media Office stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the Iraqi Prime Minister’s participation in the United Nations meetings included delivering Iraq’s speech, as well as delivering a speech at the Sustainable Development Goals Summit.

He also held meetings with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the German Chancellor, the Prime Ministers of Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Malaysia, Lebanon, and Kuwait, and the heads of state of Bulgaria, Cyprus, South Korea, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Al-Sudani also met with the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, the British Deputy Prime Minister, the US Secretary of State, the US Under-Secretary of the Treasury, and the US President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and North Africa.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also held meetings with the Secretary-General of NATO, the Director of the United Nations Development Programme, and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

In addition to holding meetings with heads and representatives of General Electric companies, the multinational technology group Honeywell, and the American law firm Kuvenkin.

There was also a meeting and a dialogue symposium with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in the presence of businessmen and investors, a dialogue session at the American Council on Foreign Relations, and another symposium held by the American “Monitor” and “Semaphore” institutions.

Al-Sudani conducted a series of interviews with a number of American media outlets.

He also issued a joint statement with the Malaysian Prime Minister on combating Islamophobia.
