On Monday, the leader of the Fatah Alliance, former MP Hamid al-Moussawi, called on the government and parliament to put an end to the suspicious and public actions of the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, due to her interference in internal affairs at the political and societal levels and the promotion of homosexuality.
Al-Musawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “The escalation of calls regarding the expulsion of the US ambassador, Alina Romanowski, from various political and social sides, requires the government to reconsider her presence as a representative of her country in the capital, Baghdad.”
He added, “The suspicious movements of the ambassador and her interference in internal political and social affairs have become clear and do not need proof.”
Al-Moussawi continued, “The government is obligated, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to put an end to the actions of the American ambassador,” noting that “the issue of promoting homosexuality is one of Romanowski’s transgressions.”
The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance called on the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee to “take its role by requesting to host the foreign minister and asking him to take fundamental measures for the ambassador’s movements that are outside the diplomatic norms defined by the United Nations.”
Warnings continue about the movements of the US ambassador in Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, and her goals of increasing meetings with officials in the state, including politicians and security, amid criticism of the continuation of these movements, which some parties considered as distant and contrary to international norms.
