Al-Barti directs a new accusation against the Kurdish parties - they are trying to thwart the passage of the oil and gas lawInformation / special.
Today, Sunday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party accused the Patriotic Union and the New Generation of trying to thwart the passage of the oil and gas law, while the latter law was considered “more important” than the federal budget.

“The oil and gas law is more important than the federal budget law, and its approval in accordance with the political agreement concluded between the governments of Baghdad and Erbil will end many disputes over the oil file,” said the leader of the party, Wafaa Muhammad, in an interview with Al-Maloma agency.

He added, “There are well-known political parties and Kurdish parties loyal to these parties, trying to thwart any agreement between the center and the region, especially the legislation of the oil and gas law within the dome of parliament.”

The leader of Barzani’s party explained that “the Kurdish parties represented by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the New Generation are those who seek to thwart the passage of the law according to the Sudanese and Barzani agreement prior to the formation of the current government.”

The political analyst, Hazem Al-Bawi, had warned, earlier, against going towards the legislation of the oil and gas law before resolving the file with the Kurds in terms of the abuses that occurred and the control of some oil fields by the region.

The oil and gas law is one of the issues that raised controversy between Erbil and Baghdad for many years, but it was agreed to approve this draft law between the two parties within the framework of a political agreement that led to the formation of the current government.
