Today, Thursday, the Central Committee of the Sadrist movement set the date and place for the “massive” demonstration called for by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, against the backdrop of Al-Suwaidi’s burning of a copy of the Holy Quran.
And the committee stated in a statement, “The angry demonstration of a million people in Baghdad will be in front of the Swedish embassy tomorrow, Friday, after Maghrib prayer, and as for the governorates, then spontaneously from today and after Friday prayers.”
Earlier in the day, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called for a mass demonstration against the Swedish embassy and the expulsion of the Swedish ambassador from Iraq on the grounds of burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden.
