The leader of the State of Law coalition, Turki Jadaan, confirmed, on Monday, that 16 countries have expressed their willingness to hand over the corrupt to the Iraqi government.

Jadaan said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The war on corruption is not an easy task, and there are many complications, especially since many of them fled to several countries to escape the grip of justice.”

He added, “The Sudanese government has moved on the file of recovering the corrupt who fled to Arab and foreign countries, and there are efforts in this direction, especially with 16 countries, including 4 Arab countries, confirming their willingness to extradite the corrupt through Interpol according to the approved international legal tracks.”

He pointed out that “Iraq’s signing of agreements to recover those accused of corruption and other cases with several countries is very important in order to recover the accused to complete the investigations,” noting that “the most important thing is to return the looted funds to the state treasury.”

Dozens of those accused of corruption cases had fled to several countries, including Arab countries, during the past years.
