On Friday, the Al-Sadiqun Parliamentary Bloc described the meetings and activities of the US ambassador to Iraq as dangerous, suspicious and disrespectful to the sovereignty of the Iraqi state.
“The American ambassador moves without restrictions or commitment to diplomatic norms and traditions that define the duties of ambassadors,” said Adnan Faihan, head of the Al-Sadiqun Parliamentary Bloc, in a statement received by Al-Maloumah.
He added, “The meetings and activities of the American ambassador in Iraq are dangerous, suspicious, and disrespectful to the sovereignty of the Iraqi state,” stressing that “the government must take the necessary legal measures to stop such behavior and violations that harm Iraq’s reputation.”
Feihan referred to “collecting parliamentary signatures to issue a resolution obligating the government to follow up on the ambassadors’ movements and take legal measures against any ambassador who exceeds his powers, duties and diplomatic norms.”
