Washington agrees to pay Iraq 500 million dollars to IranShafaq News / The Iraqi-Iranian Joint Chamber of Commerce announced, on Friday, that the United States has allowed Baghdad to pay half a billion dollars of debts owed to Tehran.

The Secretary-General of the Joint Chamber, Hamid Hosseini, confirmed to the Iranian “Tasnim” agency that America had allowed the payment of 500 million dollars of Iranian money in Iraqi banks, explaining that “Iraq deposits Iranian electricity and gas money in a bank account in the name of the National Company for Gas and Electricity Distribution, but this is not Meaning Iran’s ability to access this money.”

Hosseini added, “Iran’s money is in a bank subject to America’s supervision, and only goods that are not subject to sanctions are allowed to be imported, since last March, a billion dollars of goods were imported to Iran through this path and Iran’s dues to Turkmenistan were paid through it as well.”
