Today, Monday, the State of Law coalition revealed the date of the Iraqi delegation’s visit to America, and while confirming that the visit will be devoid of the presence of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, he indicated that the dollar crisis will be the main focus of the visit.
The leader of the coalition, Jassim Al-Bayati, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, that “a government delegation will travel to America on the seventh day during the month of February next,” pointing out that “the delegation will be represented by the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, the director of the TBI Bank, in addition to To the Governor of the Central Bank, without the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani.
He added, “The visit to America will discuss the dollar crisis exclusively,” stressing that “the crisis is not that easy, given that it has certain administrative and technical consequences two years ago, and the political side entered it amid certain pressures.”
The leader in Al-Maliki’s coalition expected that “this visit will not solve the problem of the high dollar prices in Iraq, but it may open another way to return to using the old system to distribute cash dollars for a specific period, such as 3 or 6 months, and then return to digital platforms.”
And Al-Bayati indicated that “the competent authorities are unable to organize this platform within a period of 6-9 months, given that the system and system followed by capable and imported companies cannot be identical with the digital system.”
And the exchange rates of the dollar in the Iraqi markets continue to rise despite government measures to try to control the crisis internally, which may push the government to turn towards America to find a way that can return prices to what they were previously.
