Independent MP, Basem Nghimesh Al-Gharibawi, confirmed, on Tuesday, that the Parliament Presidency did not respond to requests to hold an investment session to discuss the dollar crisis and its instability in the markets.
Al-Gharibawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency that “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi contented himself with hosting the former central bank governor,” noting that “the presidency of the legislative authority did not deal with the dollar exchange rate file.”
He added, “There is a disregard on the part of the parliament presidency for the role of members of the legislative authority in the file of the dollar’s rise,” noting that “the decision to exempt the governor of the central bank came late.”
Earlier, the popular movement for the Belt and Road accused Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi of trying to control the joints of parliament.
