A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Sajjad Salem, revealed today, Wednesday, a parliamentary move to open the currency auction file in the previous caretaker government, while indicating that there are many suspicions and corruption deals regarding this file.

Salem said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “there is a parliamentary move by the Legal Committee about opening the auction file for selling the currency in the previous caretaker government,” stressing that “there is a significant increase that reached 180 million dollars per day.”

He added, “Many suspicions and corruption deals revolve around the currency auction, especially during the time of Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government.”

He continued, “The move is serious in addressing the violations that occurred in the currency sale auction in order to preserve the hard currency and foreign reserves in Iraq.”

And the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ali Turki, had revealed earlier to Al-Maalouma that “200 billion Iraqi dinars were seized in the previous caretaker government,” stressing that “the theft took place from the funds of companies that set deposits before entering the currency auction and buying The dollar.
