A member of the House of Representatives, Jassim Al-Atwani, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the next stage will witness “sweeping” operations and cleaning the Iraqi government from the thieves of state funds, and with regard to corruption likened to the Corona virus, he considered that the selection of Haider Hanoun to head the Integrity Commission was “successful.”

Al-Atwani said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, “The previous government system, in which integrity is one of its most important parts, aroused curiosity, especially about the large thefts that occurred recently,” noting that it “did not possess integrity, competence, courage, and performing its duties in the correct role.”

He added, “The next stage will witness (sweeping) operations and cleaning up the Iraqi government and its joints from those who tried to steal Iraq’s money and exploited his position to achieve personal interests,” stressing that “the Sudanese government will stand firmly against corruption files similar to the Corona virus.”

A member of the House of Representatives stated, “The new head of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, who was appointed by Al-Sudani, is an honest and well-known man in the fight against corruption, very effective and possesses competence, and is considered a good choice for this position.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani agreed to accept the resignation of former head of the Integrity Commission, Alaa al-Saadi, and to appoint Judge Haider Hanoun in his place.
