Shafaq News/ The head of the Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, announced, on Saturday, that it had sent an official request to prevent the travel of Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, the former Minister of Oil, for his involvement in suspicions of corruption and manipulation of public money.
Al-Bajari, a member of the House of Representatives from Basra Governorate, indicated in a statement today, that she addressed the competent authorities to issue a travel ban and open an extensive investigation with Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, due to the presence of 68 cases against him in the integrity courts that prove the existence of administrative and financial corruption and major manipulation of public money.
She stressed that the minister’s departure today from the ministry that relieving him of legal responsibilities will be held accountable for them, in order to ensure the public money.
The deputy also indicated that the former minister, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, obtained two passports for foreign countries during his visit to the ministry in exchange for providing services to those countries, and through the two passports, he will leave the country soon, and the competent authorities must stop his escape and hold him accountable for the sake of public money.
Today, Saturday, a ceremony was held for the new Oil Minister, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, to take over his duties from the former Oil Minister, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar.
