A source familiar with the matter, Saturday (May 2, 2020), announced that the Al-Fateh coalition, one of the largest Shiite forces in Parliament, objected to 5 candidates for ministerial posts in the government of the Prime Minister-designate, Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

The source said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that “the first names that the Al-Fateh Coalition objected to, is the name of the Foreign Ministry candidate, Harith Hassan, who Al-Kazemi nominated for this position as an independent candidate.”

A list popular on social media, as a “leaked cabinet list,” indicates Harith Hassan, who was born in 1971 from the people of Karbala, holds a doctorate in political science, a fellow of Harvard University in America, and enjoys international relations.

The source added, “The second name among the names of ministers who were opposed to the conquest is the name of the candidate of the Ministry of Culture, Hisham Daoud, who was born in Diyala in 1959 and holds a doctorate in anthropology, and a researcher at the French National Center.”

The source added, “The third name contested by Al-Fath is the name of the academic Dr. Hassan Nazim, born in Najaf in 1965 and holding a PhD in the Arabic language, and Al-Kazemi nominated him to the Ministry of Higher Education.”

And the source added by saying, “The fourth candidate who was opposed by the Al-Fateh Coalition is the academic Kazem Al-Sahlani. He is an independent and demonstrator with experts in civil society organizations. He was born in Basra, and he is considered a young man. He was born in the year 1975.”

As for the fifth name, the source said, “The Al-Fateh coalition also objected to the assumption by the head of the parliamentary victory bloc, Adnan Al-Zarfi, of a ministerial position in the government of Al-Kazemi,” which is the official who apologized before the appointment of Al-Kazemi, and the former governor of Najaf as well.
