Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq, Nikolay Mladenov welcomed the agreement today between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government about what the financial budget and file oil.
He said Mladenov said in a statement received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it, “I am looking forward to implement the agreement as soon as possible, including oil exports from Kurdistan and Kirkuk province, as well as the Kurdistan Regional Government’s budget from the Iraqi general budget disbursement, and payment of Peshmerga salaries” .
“I commend all of the Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi and Prime Minister of the provincial government Barzani for leadership and a spirit of compromise in reaching this agreement is encouraging.”
He Mladenov said “direct and frank dialogue can be reached through agreements serve the interests of Iraq and the Iraqi people.”
He argued, “I urge all the Iraqi leaders to continue to work in this same spirit, including the adoption of the federal budget for 2015, as well as other important legislation, and work for national reconciliation and the restoration of trust between Iraq’s communities.”
The federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government has announced on Tuesday to reach agreement with respect to oil exports and the region’s share of the budget.
The agreement included the export of the Kurdistan region 250 000 barrels per day through Turkey’s Ceyhan line with the export of 300 000 barrels of the province of Kirkuk fields through the same line and the delivery of their revenues to the federal government, which agreed to turn the Kurdish Peshmerga forces paying salaries as part of the Iraqi security system.
