Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi confirmed on Sunday that weapons outside the state will be confronted with “the force of the law”.
Al-Zaydi said in a speech from Anbar province, during the launch of the “Homeland” initiative for distributing land to citizens: We appreciate all the demands and needs conveyed by members of the local government and representatives of the people.
He added, “We emphasize that we will not allow any weapons outside the framework of the state that threaten security and extort citizens, and they will be confronted with the full force of the law, because the current stage is a stage of construction and development.”
He added: “The government is working to raise the rate of oil production to 10 million barrels by 2030, and this will contribute to strengthening the national economy and supporting the development process in Iraq. We pledge to follow up on the issue of salaries for the martyrs, the wounded, and those whose homes were damaged as a result of terrorism, as well as for the displaced people of the province, and to pay all the dues of farmers and agricultural workers.”
He continued, “We will not allow war profiteers to disrupt the start of the reconstruction process in Iraq. Anbar has suffered from terrorism, and strangers will not be able to live on our land.”
