The head of the executive body of the Media and Communications Commission, Baligh Abu Kalal, revealed that official negotiations and discussions are underway with the global company “Apple” to launch the “Apple Pay” electronic payment service and regulate the privacy policy within the Iraqi market.
During a dialogue seminar held on the sidelines of his participation in the Erbil International Book Fair, Abu Kalal said, “There is an ongoing discussion with Apple, as it is entering for the first time as a trusted company and platform dedicated to working on privacy policies within the Iraqi market officially.”
The head of the executive body explained that “communications have moved into the field of games, and negotiations are underway with the company to launch the (Apple Pay) service after completing all the technical, legal and financial procedures related to the service.”
Abu Kalal had announced at the beginning of last August that Apple had adopted a certified digital platform to operate in the Republic of Iraq, after completing all the requirements and procedures stipulated in the framework regulations for digital platforms and services.
