Shafaq News, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received, on Wednesday, a written message from the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdul Aziz, in which he affirmed his country’s desire to strengthen relations between the two countries.
This came during Rashid’s reception, at Baghdad Palace, of the Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
The King of Saudi Arabia’s message included the Kingdom’s desire to strengthen relations between the two countries in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, and the importance of coordinating positions in confronting the challenges facing the region.
During the meeting, the Iraqi President stressed the need to consolidate relations between Iraq and the Kingdom and expand the horizons of constructive cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Shammari stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Iraq and support its security and stability, praising the positive developments that Iraq is witnessing in various fields.
