The deputy of the State of Law, Ali Al-Ghanmi, revealed on Tuesday (3 March 2020) the latest political developments regarding the discussions on choosing a candidate for prime minister, indicating that a new Shiite bloc will emerge in the coming days, to determine the largest bloc in Parliament.
Al-Ghani said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that “political blocs, especially Shiites, are still holding meetings, regarding the identification of a personality for the Prime Minister,” noting that “the head of the State of Law coalition Nuri al-Maliki, the head of the Alliance of Fath Hadi al-Amiri, and the head of the wisdom stream Ammar al-Hakim leading these discussions.
He added, “These intense discussions conducted by the political forces decided to agree to come out with a new bloc, and to form a committee to settle the issue of the largest bloc and name the prime minister at the beginning of the week,” noting that “the political blocs agreed to prefer the public interest of the country.”
Al-Ghanimi added, “The new parliamentary bloc will be among the Shiite forces, and those who wish to join from the partners in the political process to reach a large bloc can define the next prime minister, in order not to repeat the case of choosing any candidate without a larger bloc,” noting that ” There is a convergence of views with the Alliance of Saeron. ”
He noted that “the meetings put forward the names of specific candidates to the prime minister, and a new method was proposed to choose the candidate for prime minister, which is identifying some names and showing positive points for each person, and the most number of points will be assigned.”
For his part, the deputy from the “Al-Fath” coalition, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, revealed an agreement between the Shiite political forces on a personal proposal for the prime minister, indicating that the agreement will be presented to the Sunni and Kurdish political forces as well.
In an interview with (Baghdad Today)), Al-Fatlawi said, “There is an agreement between the Shiite political forces to present a figure with a consensus and agreement to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, for the purpose of announcing his mandate to form the new government, before the constitutional deadline expires.”
He added, “After the Shiite political forces agree on a specific personality, this personality will be presented to the Sunni and Kurdish political forces, for the purpose of obtaining political consensus and consensus, so that it can be passed easily in the Iraqi parliament.”
The representative of the Construction Alliance, Hussein Arab, had revealed on Monday (9 March 2020) the latest developments in the file of choosing the new prime minister, while new visions to resolve the file required 3 names.
Arabs said in an interview with him (Baghdad today) that “until now, no name has been formally proposed or an official letter sent to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih.”
He added, “The political blocs are in the process of consultations regarding the circulation of names that were raised in the past, and no results have been reached yet.”
He pointed out that “some of the blocs submitted a new proposal, provided that he takes over the position of prime minister at the current stage as a figure from the leaders of the political blocs for many reasons including the availability of great experience, so according to this proposal I presented the names of Hadi Al-Amiri, Falih Al-Fayyad and Nuri al-Maliki.”
