The government sends a new draft budget and a political agreement to pass it in todays session of parliamentShafaq News/ The representative of the State of Law Coalition, Firas Al-Maslamawi, revealed on Tuesday that the Iraqi Parliament received an amended copy of the draft amendment to the financial budget law from the Baghdad government, while he expected it to be passed in today’s session .

Al-Maslamawi said, in an interview with Shafaq News Agency, “There is a convergence within the Iraqi Council of Representatives regarding voting on the laws on the agenda of today’s session.”

Al-Muslimawi added, “This morning, the government sent to the House of Representatives a new draft amendment to the federal budget law, which is acceptable and satisfies everyone and is consistent with the aspirations of the members of parliament on the issue of exporting oil from the Kurdistan Region.”

Al-Maslamawi pointed out that “the new amendment to the budget law stipulates that the cost of extracting oil remains the same at $16 per barrel, on condition that all the region’s oil revenues go to the federal government, as is the case with the central and southern governorates.”

Al-Muslimawi continued, saying, “After receiving the money, the federal government will in turn work to pay the dues of the oil companies for every barrel of oil that comes out of the Kurdistan Region,” indicating that “the federal Ministry of Oil is responsible and supervises the extraction and export of the region’s oil abroad.”

Yesterday, Monday, the Coordination Framework discussed a group of files at the local and international levels during its periodic meeting held in the office of Humam Hamoudi and attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, most notably the passing of the draft amendment to the financial budget .

It is noteworthy that parliamentary sources revealed to Shafaq News Agency, yesterday, Monday, that the leaders of the political and parliamentary blocs agreed to vote on the controversial laws with a “single basket”, during the session scheduled to be held today, Tuesday .
