Informed political sources said on Sunday that the Friday sermon of the supreme religious authority representative “officially ended” the chances of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to get a second term.
The sources said that “the sermon last Friday was an official (Vito) of the religious authority in Najaf, represented by the supreme reference of the community, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, to take Abadi second term.”
“The letters (secret) of personalities close to the houses of Najaf, told the slaves that his chances to take the second term has become very weak, and Friday sermon was to put points on the letters about Sistani’s position of the continuation of Abadi in his current position.
The sources revealed that “Abadi tried repeatedly in the past weeks to get a meeting for the purpose of (reconciliation) with Mr. Ali al-Sistani, but he ran into refusing to get the meeting by the Office of the reference, despite the intervention of some Shiite political parties.”
“After the letter of reference, it has become officially that the most prominent names nominated for the post of prime minister for the next government is Tarek Najm, and Faleh Fayyad, Hadi al-Amiri, and Mohammed Shi’a Sudanese.”
It is noteworthy that the media recently published and quoted political sources aware that Abadi seeking reconciliation with Sistani and contact political and religious figures from inside Iraq and Iran and Lebanon for the purpose of (reconciliation) with Sistani to soften his position, refusing to get a second term.
A political source has also revealed that the political and religious parties informed the leader of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki the existence of (Vito) of Sistani’s reference to take Abadi second term.
Washington is moving, according to political sources, to prevent attempts to topple Abadi from the second term.
The Supreme Reference, Mr. Ali al-Sistani, warned and through his representative Abdul-Mahdi Karbalai in the Friday prayer sermon Al-Husseini, the next government to shirk the work as promised, urging the formation of the new government as soon as possible on the right basis to address corruption and poor basic services.
