Riyadh Al-Masoudi, deputy of the “Sairoun” coalition bloc, supported by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, revealed on Saturday that some Shiite political forces (he did not name them) had supported the front headed by Usma al-Nujaifi to dismiss Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.
Al-Masoudi said, “The Sunni blocs set out to form a political front to overthrow Halbousi with the support of some Shiite forces because of his uniqueness of decisions and the acquisition of most of the positions allocated to the Sunni component without reference to the blocs.”

He added that “the Sunni front, which was formed headed by Osama al-Nujaifi, intends to collect parliamentary signatures to withdraw confidence from the Speaker of Parliament,” pointing out that “the (Saeron) bloc has a negative position with Al-Halbousi because of the abuse of the position and its uniqueness in decisions.”

The Iraqi Front was composed of 35 deputies from the Salvation and Development Front headed by Osama al-Nujaifi, the Iraqi Islamic Party headed by Rashid al-Azzawi, the Arab Project headed by businessman Khamis al-Khanjar, the masses bloc headed by Ahmad al-Jubouri, and the independent Iraqi bloc.

The statements of the members of the new front indicate that it will work to dismiss Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to nominate a figure from the new bloc to take over the post.
