A senior official in Sulaymaniyah province revealed details on Friday regarding the phone call that took place between Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and US President Donald Trump amid escalating regional tensions.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “Trump informed Al-Zaidi of expectations of a large-scale military attack on Iran during the period from November 7 to 11,” warning of “the repercussions of any possible response from the resistance parties to the anticipated military developments.”
He added that “Al-Zaidi made a decision to close Iraqi airspace during the aforementioned period and impose restrictions on air traffic, and that the American side informed Baghdad of the possibility of American and Israeli aircraft using Iraqi airspace during any military operation against Iran.”
The Prime Minister’s Media Office announced in an official statement that the call between al-Zaidi and Trump addressed the latest regional developments and security situation, as well as the importance of coordination between the two countries to support stability and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy.
