(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed, on Wednesday, the necessity for the independence of the judiciary to consolidate the principle of justice, implement the law, and strengthen the state’s sovereignty.
According to the presidential statement, Al-Furat News received a copy of it, that “it took place during the reception of the President of the Republic at his residence in Sulaymaniyah, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faik Zaidan and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Chairman of the Kurdistan Region Council, Binkin Qasim, members of the Council, and the Governor of Sulaymaniyah Haval Abu Bakr, stressing the need for the independence of the judiciary to consolidate the principle of justice, enforce the law, and reinforce the sovereignty of the state.
He added, “It was also stressed the importance of coordination between the federal judicial bodies and the judiciary in the Kurdistan region in accordance with the constitution, in order to open the door to resolving the outstanding issues, and to respond quickly to the legal and legislative requirements in the country, which will be reflected in the consolidation of the rule of law.”
According to the presidential statement, “the meeting also discussed the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the necessity to provide all its legislative and technical requirements, in a manner that guarantees integrity, preventing fraud and manipulation, achieving broad representation of voters, and the need to restrict weapons to the hands of the state and prevent measures outside the law.”
He continued, “The importance of resolving the draft amendment to the Federal Court Law, coordination between the federal judicial bodies and the Kurdistan region in this regard, and the confirmation of the important role of the court in many legal and administrative issues in the country, and work to resolve them in accordance with the constitution,” he added.
Saleh affirmed that, “From his position, he will remain supportive and supportive of all efforts of the federal judiciary and judicial bodies in the Kurdistan region, and support in preparing laws and legislations that address unresolved issues and controversial points, and implement justice and rights in order to enhance the state’s sovereignty in imposing law and providing security and stability. For citizens. ”
For their part, the judges thanked the President of the Republic for hosting this important meeting, supporting the independence of the judiciary, and starting to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the judicial agencies in order to implement the law and the independence of the judiciary to strengthen the authority of the state.
