Political pressure and hints to stop salaries ... Four proposals to avoid the crisis{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee put forward, on Sunday, 4 proposals to avoid the loan crisis and political pressures regarding it and limit hints to stop salaries of employees.
Committee member Jamal Cougar told Al-Furat News that “there is no political pressure on the borrowing law, but there is psychological pressure on the committee members when salaries are late, as everyone is under street pressure.”
He added, “To get out of this crisis, we must first start with real reforms and conduct direct negotiations with (OPEC). Iraq exports approximately 3 million and 300 thousand barrels of oil per day, while it was previously exporting more than 4 million barrels,” adding that an increase of one million barrels will make a difference of one billion dollars per month. “.
He pointed out that “the Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, stated that there are 200-300 thousand aliens who receive two salaries,” wondering, “What is the minister waiting for to stop their salaries immediately?”
While calling for “the abolition of customs exemptions for millions of tons of materials entering the country,” stressing “the government’s need to take such immediate decisions.”
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, reassured citizens, through an interview with Al-Furat satellite channel, on Saturday evening, about the payment of salaries for the remaining months, saying: The situation of Iraq is not in danger and that the exchange mechanism was carried out according to the financial engineering system without borrowing.
Meanwhile, Allawi criticized the resigned government of Adel Abdul Mahdi and how it consumed all the financial liquidity during the last four months and left major financial accumulations, indicating that the agreement signed by the Abdul Mahdi government, which includes reducing exports, led to a lack of state revenues and created a major problem with the availability of liquidity after it reduced Export to about one million barrels.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi affirmed the government’s determination to find effective solutions to the current crises, and its emphasis on the importance of facing all financial, economic and epidemic challenges in a way that secures Iraq overcoming these crises and turning them into focal points for reform and development.
