The representative of the State of Law coalition, Jassem Al-Moussawi, confirmed, on Saturday, that the financial surplus available as a result of the rise in global oil prices will facilitate the approval of the current year’s budget, while Al-Kazemi’s government warned against using the financial abundance, which will prompt us to file complaints against it with the Federal Court.
Al-Moussawi told “Information”, “The financial abundance achieved as a result of the rise in oil prices will facilitate the preparation of the 2022 budget, which will be approved immediately after the formation of the new government,” noting that “Al-Kazemi’s outgoing government does not have the right to dispose of this surplus.”
He added, “Deputies of the coordination framework seek to review and follow up all contracts concluded by the caretaker government since it took control of matters to the present day,” stressing “his rejection of any major financial projects and contracts controlled by the current government.”
And the representative of the State of Law explained that “Al-Kazemi’s government’s continuation of overstepping its powers and proceeding with the conclusion of contracts and projects and the use of the financial surplus will prompt us to submit appeals and complaints against it to the Federal Court.”
On Thursday, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Thamer Theban, described the government as a “booth” dedicated to selling oil only, adding that “the government does not have economic plans, but it is a kiosk for selling oil and its operating budget is equivalent to the budgets of neighboring countries.”
