{Baghdad: Al-Furat News} The House of Representatives intends to put the issue of the abolition of all local councils in its next session.
A parliamentary source told the {Euphrates News} that “one of the parliamentary blocs raised during today’s session after discussing the issue of the dissolution of the Nineveh Council project to dissolve all the local councils, which sparked a wide debate within the session.”
He pointed out that “the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Halabousi, has left the subject to the next session, where will discuss the dissolution of all councils and not only the Ninewa Provincial Council.”
“The source pointed out that” a number of parliamentary blocs have refused to this proposal because it will generate a vacuum, especially that the country is coming to the provincial council elections and my efforts to resolve and better to prepare all the necessary requirements to speed up the local elections, while others supported the proposal to dissolve all the councils. ”
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Halboussi, addressed the parliament session on Tuesday, presenting the request of 178 deputies on the dissolution of the Nineveh Provincial Council on the agenda of the meeting on Thursday after the approval of the Council.
