The activities of the 47th session of the Baghdad International Fair are expected to begin next Wednesday, with the participation of 20 countries and 800 local, Arab and foreign companies.
Talib Hassan Nimah, Director General of Follow-up and Planning at the Ministry of Commerce, said in an interview with the official newspaper that preparations for the opening of the exhibition, which will last for ten days under the slogan “Iraq Communicates,” were made early to ensure its success as one of the most important economic events.
Nehme explained that the number of participants in the exhibition increased to 20 countries compared to 13 in the previous session, noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia leads the way with 140 companies.
Participation also included companies from other countries such as Germany, Japan, Spain, Turkey, Iran and India, in addition to Arab countries including the UAE, Oman, Egypt and Syria. The Czech Republic and Azerbaijan are also participating, which is participating for the first time in the exhibition.
Nimah pointed out that the exhibition will host folkloric artistic and cultural events that reflect the Mesopotamian civilization, which will enhance the attractiveness of foreign investors and enhance cooperation between the Iraqi and international private sectors, contributing to strengthening the economy and supporting reconstruction and development efforts in the country.
