Member of Sadiqin calls for reassignment of Abdel-Mahdi - It is possible to replace existing ministers with suspicions around themBaghdad today – Baghdad

On Sunday (01 March 2020), the representative of the Sadikoun parliamentary bloc called Abdel Amir Al-Taiban, to reassign the resigned Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, to head the government, while changing the number of ministers around whom suspicions circulate, as he put it.

Al-Tayban said in a tweet on his platform via “Twitter”, that “the interest of Iraq and the surrounding regional and international dangers and ambitions, and after the failure of the political forces to pass the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, became a duty of them to abandon ambiguity, gossip, and vilified allotment.”

He believed that “it is necessary to re-assign Mr. Adel Abdel Mahdi with the change of a number of ministers around whom suspicions are circulating.”

He continued, saying: “Lord of harmful harmfulness.”

Earlier today, Sunday, Basra’s deputy, Uday Awad, called on the political blocs to act with “wisdom and reason” as he put it, and consult with resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi in order to reassign his government, outlining three conditions for extending the caretaker government.

Awad said in a press statement, “The government of Designated Allawi has not been able to obtain the majority and search for an alternative is another drain on time, and we will not reach a result, and in dangerous conditions the world is living now from the spread of the Corona epidemic that has afflicted our country, as well as delaying the approval of the budget that It has negative returns for our Iraq and a delay in paying the salaries of thousands of our children because of it. Therefore, we must act wisely and reasonably and consult with Adel Abdul Mahdi to extend the possibility of his government. ”

He continued, “We must put three points, to extend the government of Abdul-Mahdi, which is to set an early date for the elections for the parliament and governorates, and to send the 2020 budget within days to the parliament for approval, in addition to focusing on prevention and treatment of the Corona epidemic and setting plans for that from the highest levels.” .

The resigned Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, had sent a message to the House of Representatives (February 19, 2020), in which he said that the political blocs were behind the date of forming the government a lot, while he warned of the danger of entering a new “vacuum” and confirmed his lack of willingness to stay in his post yet March 2.

Abdul-Mahdi said in the message: “I submitted my resignation on 11/29/2019 and it was accepted by the distinguished parliament, and here we are in mid-February 2020, that is, two and a half months later, and no new government has been formed.”

He added: “It was constitutionally supposed to assign a new candidate within 15 days from the date of resignation. We were too late for the appointment and was only commissioned in the beginning of February when Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi was assigned, which shows the crisis of the political process, but rather the crisis of constitutional powers and institutions entrusted with this matter.” .

And he added: “We are optimistic about the mandate and do our best to support it and support it to succeed in its endeavors, including this open letter and its implications that we have conveyed to political leaders, and we know the great difficulties that everyone faces.”

He explained that “the constitutional deadline of 30 days to grant the confidence of the House of Representatives to the members of the new government and its ministerial platform expires on 2 March 2020. Therefore, I send this message before the constitutional deadline expires to my brothers and sisters from the people’s representatives to warn of the danger of entering a new vacuum because of the procrastination to form a new government , Instead of speeding up its formation so that it can carry out its tasks assigned to it, including holding early elections as soon as possible. ”

He called “the political blocs, the House of Representatives, public opinion and those affecting the decision-making in our country to move forward in facilitating the mission of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to form his government and overcome serious and artificial obstacles in front of him”, noting: “Because the lack of success in achieving this and the failure of political forces to reach a decisive solution in This file, approximately 3 months after the government’s resignation, could expose the country to a more serious crisis. ”

He went on to say: “Since it will be incorrect and inappropriate to continue to assume responsibilities after the date of 2 March 2020, I will have no choice but to resort to the solutions stipulated in the constitution or the internal system of the Council of Ministers.

He concluded by saying: “My aim in all of this is to help the success of the next government and stop the constitutional violations that work against the interest of the country and its constitutional democratic system.”
