Today, Thursday (19 March 2020), the Iraqi security forces took over the Al-Qaim military base in Anbar, after the withdrawal of the international coalition forces.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, this morning, the international coalition forces handed over the entire Al-Qaim military base to the Iraqi security forces.
The international alliance, revealed on Tuesday 17 March 2020, to start a dialogue with the Iraqi side to withdraw from the base of Al-Qa’im in the west of the country, which is one of the important rules.
“I had important discussions with my friend, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, the spokesperson for the Joint Operations Command – Iraq. The latest developments regarding the departure of the coalition forces from the base of al-Qa’im will be announced later,” Colonel Miles Cageter, spokesman for the International Alliance in Iraq, said in a tweet on his Twitter account. The Iraqi forces’ pursuit of terrorists who attacked Al-Taji camp was also discussed.
