Iraqi Ports Announces Total 2024 Revenues, Completion Rates of the “Submerged Tunnel” and the Navigation Canal

Shafaq News/ The Director General of the Iraqi Ports Company, Farhan Al-Fartousi, announced on Monday the company’s total revenues during the year 2024, and the completion rates of a number of projects.
Al-Fartousi said during a press conference attended by Shafaq News Agency correspondent, “The company’s total revenues amounted to more than one trillion dinars, while the total container handling amounted to one million and 800 thousand containers.”
He pointed out that “the number of ships anchored in Iraqi ports has reached more than three thousand ships,” noting that “the docks have been connected by new roads with a length of 3 km in addition to a bridge worth 24 billion dinars.”
Regarding the immersed tunnel project, Al-Fartousi said, “On the 15th of next month, the ten concrete blocks will be floated,” stressing that “work on the immersed tunnel will be completed by the end of next year.”
Regarding the container yard project, he explained that “the completion rate exceeded 82.5%”, noting that “the completion rate of the navigation canal reached more than 80%”.
Al-Fartousi pointed out that “most of the ports company’s projects are nearing completion and will be completed by the end of next year.”
