Iraq pays more than $ 20 billion in foreign debt

Iraq paid more than $ 20 billion in foreign debt during the last period, out of more than $ 50 billion, which was borrowed from foreign countries and international institutions.
The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Haitham Al-Jubouri, said today: “The debts on Iraq were more than 50 billion dollars, more than 20 billion dollars were paid during the last period.”
Al-Jubouri said that Iraq is still owed 27 billion dollars to foreign countries, in addition to 41 billion dollars to Saudi Arabia, “unrecognized” as described, given that it was granted to President Saddam Hussein.
With the Iraqi MP, Majida Al-Tamimi, confirmed that Iraq borrowed in 2005 one billion and 200 million dollars, and in the world 2016 one billion and 443 million dollars from the World Bank and external parties, to support investment and bridge the budget deficit.
