Shafaq News/ A delegation representing independent representatives in the Iraqi parliament presented, today, Sunday, an initiative to Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani to resolve the political blockage and overcome the political crisis in the country.
A statement by Barzani’s office, received by Shafaq News Agency, said that the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, received today in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, a delegation representing the independent representatives in the Iraqi parliament, indicating that the two sides discussed the political situation in Iraq and the blockage that has resolved the political process. .
The statement added that the guest delegation put forward an initiative to overcome the crisis and obstacles impeding the progress of the political process.
The statement added that the meeting also witnessed confirmation that the continuation of the political crisis poses a serious threat to the interests of citizens and stability in Iraq.
Earlier today, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, affirmed the Kurds’ support for any attempt to get out of the current political impasse and the need to bring the views of the political blocs closer.
Nechirvan Barzani’s position came during his meeting with a delegation of independent members of the House of Representatives known as the negotiating committee, where he discussed with them the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq and the challenges it faces and efforts to reach an understanding between the political parties and overcome the political impasse.
