Member of the Financial Committee Majed Al-Waeli revealed, on Monday, the details of the committee’s meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi regarding the draft law on financing the fiscal deficit.
Al-Waeli said in a tweet via Twitter, “The meeting of the Finance Committee with the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Finance and Planning, the Governor of the Central Bank and the advanced cadre in the Ministry of Finance included three points.”
He added, “The first point witnessed the presentation of the ideas of the Finance Committee to deal with the current crisis, and it received great attention from the Prime Minister,” adding that “Al-Kazemi instructed that a monthly meeting be held with the Finance Committee to implement the proposals.”
Al-Waeli clarified, “The second point included the committee’s objection to the principle of borrowing, and if the government was forced to do so, the required number is not approved by the committee.”
He pointed out that “the Financial Committee requested to start distributing salaries with the available cash liquidity.”
