Al-Nasr Coalition spokesperson, Ayat Al-Mudhafar, revealed, on Tuesday (3 March 2020), the leader of the coalition, Haider Al-Abadi, on the condition of receiving the prime minister again.
Al-Mudhafar said in a press statement I followed (Baghdad today) that “the head of the coalition, Haider al-Abadi, refuses to be assigned to the prime minister if he is nominated by the political blocs.”
She added, “He will agree to this if it is a candidacy from the people and the protesting masses.”
On Tuesday (3 March 2020), the deputy for the Al-Hikma Movement, Asad Al-Murshidi, revealed that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had received requests to nominate personalities to head the next government from various sides.
Al-Murshidi said in an interview with (Baghdad Today) that “there are consultations with the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, in order to expedite the selection of a representative who is capable of forming a new government,” noting that “the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received requests to nominate certain personalities to head the new government, and these requests It was presented to him by some demonstrators, civil society organizations, and others. ”
He explained, “There is a proposal for the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to present more than one candidate for the presidency of the new government, and one of them will be chosen by national leaders and with experience.”
Earlier in the day, the leader of the Sadrist movement, the former head of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Governor of Zamili, spoke about attempts by prominent political forces to nominate five figures to head the next government.
Al-Zamili said in a press statement, “The opposing blocs that thwarted the mission of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi began to intensify their negotiations, in order to present an alternative candidate that guarantees the achievement of its gains and shares,” accusing “President of the State of Law coalition Nuri al-Maliki, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, and other personalities leading this.” Mobility. ”

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, had submitted, at dawn on Monday, 2 March 2020, his apology for the assignment to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, who had agreed to it and pledged to name an alternative within 15 days.
After that, the Presidency issued a statement, following the apology of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi for forming the transitional government.
