BAGHDAD: The Committee on Foreign Relations in the House of Representatives near the resolution of the file vote on 70 ambassadors of Iraq in Arab and foreign countries.
Chairman of the Committee Shirko Mirwais said in a press statement that “the file of voting on ambassadors nominated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and political blocs has come to an end,” noting that “the committee will send the names nominated by the political blocs to the ministry to meet them in accordance with the controls set by the ministry” expected “to resolve this The file in the next few days. ”
For his part, said member of the Committee Amer Al-Fayez: “The Committee received the names of the candidates of the Ministry in the hope of voting on them in the coming days.”
Fayez added that “the committee has not yet received the names of candidates for political blocs to scrutinize and determine their suitability for these positions in accordance with the controls and conditions set by the ministry,” adding that “the total of new ambassadors to be nominated by the ministry and the political blocs between the 70 parties.”
Committee member Pierre Doski predicted that “the current legislative chapter will witness the vote of new ambassadors, who passes the interview and the test of the Foreign Ministry.”
“The ambassadors to be selected have undergone the tests and conditions of the Foreign Service Institute in the ministry, most notably his knowledge of more than one language, his knowledge of diplomatic contexts and the best representation of Iraq abroad,” Dosky said.
